Karl-Anthony Towns ribs Joel Embiid after he gets higher NBA 2K18 player rating

Minnesota Timberwolves v Indiana Pacers

NBA players are gradually finding out over this offseason what their player ratings will be for the upcoming NBA 2K18 video game, which is set to be released later this year.

Some players have been happy with their ratings, while others have not. One of those players that has been very vocal about their disappointment with their rating is Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers.

After only being given an 86 rating, Embiid believes he should have a 95 rating overall, although he did acknowledge that his injury issues from last season may have played a key role in his rating. He says he can do everything, but his durability is letting him down.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns received his rating for NBA 2K18. He was given a rating of 91, five places higher than Embiid.

When he heard of his rating, he definitely wanted to make sure he told the Sixers star about it, and that he also trusts the process.

Towns said: "I can't wait to tell Joel (86 rating). I have nothing to complain about. I do trust the process on that one."

Both the Timberwolves and the Sixers are in promising situations next season and could find themselves as two newcomers in the playoffs in 2018 after the rosters they have managed to put together during this offseason.

After drafting Markelle Fultz with the first overall pick of this year's draft, Philadelphia has a good chance of making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference for the first time in five seasons, but it is important for them that Embiid stays on the court. He averaged 20.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last season, but only managed to play in just 31 games due to injuries.

Cleveland Cavaliers v Philadelphia 76ers

Following a trade for Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls and drafting Justin Patton, this Minnesota side lead by Towns could end their 13-year playoff drought this coming season, although the task will be very difficult for them to do in a competitive Western Conference.

If both Embiid and Towns do help get their teams to the postseason in 2018, they're sure to see some sort of increase in their player ratings on NBA 2K18.
