Robin van Persie completed the circle of his career last month, moving back to Feyenoord where it all began from Turkish side Fenerbahce.

The striker had spent the last two-and-a-half years there after leaving Manchester United, following a controversial £22.5m transfer from Arsenal.

Van Persie was voted the PFA Player of the Year in 2012, scoring 30 goals in the Premier League, but his reluctance to sign a new contract at the Emirates with only a year left forced Arsene Wenger's hand.

And United took advantage of the opportunity, reaping the rewards when the Dutchman steered them to their 20th top flight title, firing 26 goals in the process.

But his career in England quickly fizzled out under David Moyes and then Louis van Gaal, playing only 48 league games in those two seasons, resulting in a move to Turkey.

During his time at both Arsenal and United, van Persie wasn't immune to spectacular goals.

His volley against Aston Villa at Old Trafford in 2013 will live long in the memory of United fans, as he scored a hat-trick to wrap up the title.

In his last year at Arsenal, van Persie struck another sweet volley into the bottom corner to earn a 1-0 victory vs Everton, and there are very few who could match his technique.

Even after all his injuries, and playing just eight times all season, his ability hasn't diminished.

Less than a minute after coming on for Feyenoord against Groningen, he wowed his adoring fans once again with this stunning goal.

It really is typical van Persie, intelligently touching it past the defender before curling a brilliant strike into the bottom corner.

The crowd were just as delighted as he was to be back on the scoresheet, and the 34-year-old showed he can certainly help revitalise Feyenoord's season.

Having won the Eredivisie last term, they find themselves a massive 19 points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven this time around, all but ending their defence of the title.

But with a player of van Persie's calibre, they can certainly try and pull back the seven-point gap to AZ Alkmaar in third.

That would earn them qualification for the third round of next season's Europa League, and the Dutchman will certainly want to try his hand in Europe once again.
