Fred and Diogo Dalot are both expected to be Manchester United players by the end of the week.
The former has already undergone a medical ahead of a £52 million move from Shakhtar Donetsk while Man United have agreed a deal with Porto to sign Dalot.
Both signings will go down well at Old Trafford, where it’s vitally important that Jose Mourinho and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward have a successful transfer window.
Man United finished 19 points behind Manchester City last season and they suffered a disappointing exit in the Champions League, too.
The Red Devils were beaten in the last-16 by Sevilla, who finished seventh in La Liga.
The Spanish side went to Manchester and secured a 2-1 win courtesy of Wissam Ben Yedder’s brace.
While Ben Yedder stole the headlines, and Steven N’Zonzi ran the midfield, another Sevilla player was quietly putting on a show.
Man United's latest target
Centre-back Clement Lenglet, 22, was given the task of keeping Romelu Lukaku quiet and he did so perfectly.
It’s for that reason why rumours claiming Man United have made an approach to sign Lenglet are so interesting.
According to L’Equipe, the Red Devils have stepped up their efforts to sign the Frenchman after being impressed with his performance in the round-of-16 tie.
Indeed, his highlights are doing the rounds on social media.
Man United fans are recalling Lenglet’s impressive display at Old Trafford in Sevilla’s 2-1 win in March.
The centre-back did a fine job of stifling Lukaku, who had to wait until late on to make an impact by scoring Man United's only goal.
It was after that humbling defeat that Mourinho claimed “many” Sevilla players would get into his own side.
“Do you think they didn’t have any players who could play direct in my team?,” the Portuguese coach asked the assembled media.
“I cannot name them. If I name them their agents will jump with happiness and they will say: ‘Tag, tag, price’, this and that.
“In Sevilla, there are many players who would play in my team.”
That statement could come true if Man United are able to sign Lenglet.
The defender has a £30.7m release clause in his contract but reports from Spain suggest Barcelona are close to signing him.News Now - Sport News
