Liverpool and Man Utd youngsters feature in 2018 Golden Boy award nominations

FBL-WC-2018-MATCH50-FRA-ARG

Italian media outlet Tuttosport revealed the nominations for the 2018 Golden Boy award on Sunday.

Past winners include Wayne Rooney, Leo Messi, Sergio Aguero and Paul Pogba.

PSG's French forward Kylian Mbappe beat off competition from Marcus Rashford and Gabriel Jesus to win the award in 2017.

And the 19-year-old, who just tore through Argentina's defence at the World Cup, is the huge favourite to win the award again.

There's plenty of Premier League representation with three youngsters from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City, two from Arsenal and Spurs and one from Chelsea, Everton and West Ham.

Nominees must be under the age of 21 and the recipient is decided by 30 journalists from media outlets across the continent.

All players on the 100-man list were born after January 1 1998.

The youngest player on the list is Italian forward Pietro Pellegri, who joined Monaco from Genoa for £17.5m in January.
