Barcelona's brilliant tweet after Marc-Andre ter Stegen's heroics in Sevilla victory

Barcelona returned to winning ways and to the top of La Liga on Saturday as they saw off Sevilla 4-2 at the Nou Camp.

Philippe Coutinho, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic scored the goals for the hosts, but they now face three weeks without their captain after his terrible arm injury.

While Barca ended up needing Messi's early brilliance to earn the three points, the star of the show ended up being Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

In addition to recording a 75% passing accuracy rate, the goalkeeper pulled off five top saves to preserve Barca's lead - and some of them were phenomenal.

Like most viewers, Barcelona's official Twitter account were in awe of Ter Stegen's display and posted a great tweet about him shortly after the full-time whistle.

Ter Stegen's heroics v Sevilla

Ter Stegen had to bide his time upon joining the Catalan giants from Borussia Monchengladbach back in 2014, but he's been their undisputed number one for some time now.

Just after the hour-mark, at 2-0, Andre Silva saw his powerful header incredibly saved by Ter Stegen, who then closed down Franco Vazquez's follow-up effort.

If that wasn't enough, the German international produced another world-class double save to deny Sevilla with the score at 3-1.

The 26-year-old's saves were outstanding, but arguably even more impressive was the speed and agility he showed between them to reset his position.

Barca's tweet about Ter Stegen

Football clubs regularly run Man of the Match polls, asking their supporters who they think the team's best player was in a given game.

Barca decided to do that following the Sevilla win, but the range of options they gave fans simply indicated just how good they thought Ter Stegen performed.

As shown in the funny tweet below, there were two choices for Man of the Match: Marc-Andre ter Stegen and... Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Who is the best GK in the world?

Before 2018, most people would've probably named Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer or Manchester United's David de Gea as the world's best 'keeper.

However, Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak and Ter Stegen in particular have laid their claim to that title with some stunning performances in the past 12-18 months.

Barca's shot-stopper will hope to continue his fine form when the Spanish champions face Inter Milan in the Champions League before El Clasico against Real Madrid.
