The Echo have revealed Liverpool's most influential players so far in 2018/19

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool's development as a top side in 2018/19 really is testament to the stellar job Jurgen Klopp has done on Merseyside.

The fact that the Reds have kept pace with Pep Guardiola's all-conquering team in the Premier League title race is impressive in itself and Liverpool's fate is still in their own hands.

City are currently ahead of Klopp's side on goal difference, but Liverpool do significantly have a game in hand - which is away at Manchester United next Sunday.

Liverpool have spent incredibly well of late, with the signings of Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri really taking the squad to the next level.

Fellow summer signing Naby Keita is yet to find his feet on Merseyside after moving from RB Leipzig.

And the established names at the club in Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have all been in fine form as well throughout the season.

But who has been the most influential player in Klopp's squad?

Well, the Liverpool Echo have been grading players throughout the campaign and have produced a list of the ratings as of now - their grading only applies to player who have played 10 or more games.

Salah's 17 Premier League goals and Van Dijk's imperious form at the back are only enough for the pair to finish joint second on 7.13.

The winner? Brazilian midfielder Fabinho on 7.14.

Fabinho - 7.14

Salah - 7.13

Van Dijk - 7.13

Joe Gomez - 7.06

Gini Wijnaldum - 7.00

Shaqiri - 7.00

Robertson - 6.97

Mane - 6.90

Alisson - 6.78

James Milner - 6.70

Roberto Firmino - 6.61

Joel Matip - 6.60

Dejan Lovren - 6.55

Jordan Henderson - 6.46

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 6.36

Naby Keita - 6.30

Daniel Sturridge - 6.17

Keita's underwhelming performances have been big talking points on Twitter, but the Guinean was excellent in the recent 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

As for Sturridge, his time at the club appears to be at an end, with Liverpool sure to invest in a new striker in the summer to support Salah and Firmino.
