Another Premier League season came to an end earlier this month as Manchester City were crowned champions on an entertaining final day.
City needed nothing less than victory to ensure they won the title ahead of Liverpool, who were one point behind them and faced Wolves at home.
Liverpool did the business with a 2-0 victory and for a brief moment it looked like City were going to struggle when Brighton took a 1-0 lead.
But it was never going to last long and in the end the Citizens won 4-1 thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan.
Elsewhere, Chelsea and Tottenham finished third and fourth respectively while Arsenal and Manchester United were forced to settle for the Europa League.
Arsenal could still qualify for the Champions League, though, should they beat Chelsea in next week's Europa League final.
It's always sad when a Premier League season finishes for another year, but for one lucky punter it was a day to celebrate.
A fan from Derbyshire placed £5 on a 23,496/1 10-fold accumulator in which he predicted the winners - or a draw - of every game on the final day.
And would you believe it, he got every single one correct to win £117,485.16. Here were his winning selections:
- Arsenal to beat Burnley
- Crystal Palace to beat Bournemouth
- Newcastle to beat Fulham
- West Ham to beat Watford
- Cardiff City to beat Manchester United
- Liverpool to beat Wolves
- Man City to beat Brighton
- Leicester and Chelsea to draw
- Southampton and Huddersfield to draw
- Tottenham and Everton to draw
Here's the best part - he didn't realise his bet had come through until 10 days later, when he opened his Paddy Power account and saw £117k sitting there.
Paddy Power said in a statement: "Like finding a winning lottery ticket down the back of the sofa, this punter hadn't realised he was over £117,000 richer from an accumulator he had on the last day of the season.
"He predicted the result of every game, including a loss for United against Cardiff, which in hindsight could've been the most obvious of the lot.
"But he didn't find out until 10 days after the event!"News Now - Sport News
