On Friday evening EA Sports released the official trailer for FIFA 20, which is set to be released on September 27.

They also released the top 100 players in the game, which you can view by clicking HERE.

As you’d expect of full of the usual names such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

They will also be some new names in there after breakthrough seasons during 2018/19.

The likes of Bernardo Silva, Frenkie de Jong, Rodri and Hakim Ziyech have all been promoted to the hallowed top 100.

But if there are new players entering into the top 100, that means there will be players dropping out of the top 100.

In fact, there are a total of 24 players that were in the top 100 on FIFA 19 that won’t be in the top 100 on FIFA 20.

Who are they, we hear you ask. Well, let’s take a look:

Riyad Mahrez | Manchester City

Mahrez wasn’t first choice at City last season and his FIFA 19 rating of 85 may suffer as a result.

Marco Asensio | Real Madrid

Asensio only scored six goals in all competitions for Real Madrid last season and has been ruled out for months with a serious knee injury.

Edin Dzeko | AS Roma

Now 33 and only scored 14 goals in 40 matches last season, Dzeko isn’t quite the striker he used to be.

AS Roma v Udinese - Serie A

Vincent Kompany | Anderlecht

At 33, Kompany left City to become player-manager of Anderlecht - a role that isn’t going too well.

Arturo Vidal | Barcelona

Possibly a harsh one, this. Started 22 La Liga matches for the Barca last season, helping them win the league. Now 32, though.

Diego Costa | Atletico Madrid

Injuries restricted him to 21 games in all competitions last season, scoring just five goals. Will soon turn 31.

Radja Nainggolan | Cagliari

The 31-year-old had a tough 2018/19 with Inter and is now on-loan at Cagliari.

Cagliari Calcio v Brescia Calcio - Serie A

Nemanja Matic | Manchester United

No longer a regular at United. Also 31.

Douglas Costa | Juventus

Numerous injury problems saw Costa miss the majority of the second half of the season. Plus the fact he’ll be playing for Piemonte Calcio in FIFA 20…

Cesar Azpilicueta | Chelsea

Based on the Chelsea captain’s start to the current Premier League season, this looks to be a good call from EA.

Naldo | Monaco

Naldo and Monaco were almost relegated last season. No surprise to see a slight drop then.

Jerome Boateng | Bayern Munich

Dropped by Bayern. Dropped by Germany. Dropped by EA Sports.

Nicolas Otamendi | Manchester City

In and out of City’s side last season. Initial FIFA 20 rating will surely rise given Aymeric Laporte’s long-term injury and, therefore, Otemendi being guaranteed a starting berth if fit.

Mesut Ozil | Arsenal

Not fancied by Unai Emery. His FIFA 19 rating of 86 will surely drop.

FC Barcelona v Arsenal - Pre-Season Friendly

Ivan Perisic | Bayern Munich

Incredible at last summer’s World Cup but didn’t have the greatest campaign in 2018/19. His loan move from Inter to Bayern may change his fortunes.

Alexis Sanchez | Inter Milan

Well, this is hardly surprising. Just how much will his FIFA 19 rating of 87 fall by?

Andres Iniesta | Vissel Kobe

Now 35-years-old, Iniesta can’t expect to maintain his 87 rating from FIFA 19.

Marek Hamsik | Dalian Yifang

Another victim from the Asian league.

Gonzalo Higuain | Juventus

Higuain had an initial rating of 88 on FIFA 19. But unsuccessful loan spells at AC Milan and Chelsea will see that tumble.

Gianluigi Buffon | Juventus

Didn’t play every week for PSG and won’t play every week back at Juve. To be fair, he is 41.

Gareth Bale | Real Madrid

Initially rated 88 last season. Now not even in the top 100. Poor Gareth.

Three further players have also dropped out of the top 100.

Arjen Robben has retired, while Medhi Benatia and Luis Filipe’s leagues are not included in the game (Qatar and Brazil respectively).
