The 22 Premier League players who've been given the worst FIFA 20 downgrades

Manchester United Training Session

The long wait for the FIFA 20 player ratings was ended earlier this week.

The sheer premise of every big name in world football being numerically compared to one another and given over 29 specific statistics is fascinating in itself.

However, it takes an extra level of importance when millions of people around the globe are buying the game and shelling out their virtual currency on these very players.

The biggest story from EA Sports' latest ratings was that Lionel Messi, having been neck-a-neck with Cristiano Ronaldo for a few editions, is now the outright number one at 94.

The likes of Neymar, Jan Oblak, Luka Modric and Virgil van Dijk are also some of the most highly rated players on the game with ratings exceeding 90.

But aside from the simple number, it's also interesting to assess how the latest FIFA game has reflected how players have either improved or regressed since they were last rated.

Earlier this week, we looked at which Premier League players have been given the biggest upgrades and now - you guessed it - we're analysing the other end of the spectrum.

Calling upon the brilliant bank of data at FUTHead, we've taken note of every single player in England's top flight whose rating has dropped by either five, four or three.

It should also be noted that we're not including players who technically belong to a Premier League side but are on loan elsewhere, so Alexis Sanchez can count himself lucky.
