Highlights of Fabinho’s performance v Spurs proves he is one of the world's best DM's

Liverpool FC v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Liverpool proved their mettle once again on Sunday with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

After Harry Kane nodded Spurs in front inside the opening minute, the Reds came roaring back, peppering the Spurs goal which, somehow, made it to halftime unbreached.

Paulo Gazzaniga was playing the game of his life in the Spurs goal, repelling shots left, right and centre as the London side clung onto their lead.

It was much of the same in the second half and it was only a matter of time before Liverpool would force their way back into the tie.

Their salvation came from an unlikely source though, with skipper Jordan Henderson popping up at the back post to slot a volley into the bottom corner.

Mohamed Salah's penalty a few minutes later would prove to be the winner as the Reds went six points ahead at the top of the table.

However, while the terrifying trio upfront were as impressive as ever, all the plaudits for Liverpool's relentless performance deserve to go to one man; Fabinho.

The Brazilian pulled all the strings at the heart of the Reds midfield, spraying passes out to the flanks for fun, while regularly chipping menacing balls in behind the defensive line with ease.

On several occasions, he single-handedly stopped Spurs dead in their tracks as they looked to play on the counter as well.

He was deservedly handed the Man-of-the-match award and the highlights package below shows exactly why.

What a player.

Fabinho has been sensational for Liverpool since forcing his way into the line-up following his surprise move from Monaco in 2018.

He has been a constant fixture in a packed midfield that is regularly rotated and is surely one of the first names on Klopp's team sheet.

It is likely that Klopp will hand him a well-earned rest on Wednesday when Arsenal visit Anfield for a Carabao Cup clash.

If Liverpool are to finally claim their first Premier League title this season though, they will be hoping for many more performances like this from their battering Brazilian.
