Liverpool and Manchester City players have been ranked from best to worst

Liverpool v Manchester City - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Leg One

Liverpool vs Manchester City on Sunday afternoon promises to be a cracker.

The Reds welcome City to Anfield in what is the biggest game of the season so far.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their opening 11 Premier League games and have opened up a six-point lead over their rivals.

A Liverpool win would extend their lead to nine, while a City victory would cut the lead at the top of the table to just three points.

For that reason, it's a massive game for both sides.

Ahead of the match, Squawka invited a Liverpool and Man City fan to rank all the players to appear for both sides in the Premier League so far this season from worst to best.

And here's what they came up with...

1=) Sadio Mane

1=) Raheem Sterling

3=) Fabinho

3=) Kevin De Bruyne

5=) Roberto Firmino

5=) Sergio Aguero

7) Virgil van Dijk

GIVEMESPORT'S James Stroud says:

With the exception of Joel Matip, there can be few arguments for those ranked between 16-41.

Matip is currently out injured but he was absolutely brilliant when on the pitch to start the season. An argument can even be made that he was playing better than Virgil van Dijk.

There's also a number of controversial picks in the top 15.

Kevin De Bruyne has been the best player in the Premier League this season

The best player in the Premier League this season has been De Bruyne. With nine assists so far this season, he deserves top spot.

Following close behind should be Mane, who has also been fantastic this season.

While Salah has not been up to his usual standards, Mane has been world-class and has already saved his side on a number of occasions.

Fabinho has been superb but we feel he's ranked too high. He's definitely not on a par with De Bruyne. Aguero, who is averaging a goal every 74 minutes in the league, deserves to be higher.

Alisson may well be Brazil number one but, seeing as the list is based on this season alone, he shouldn't be inside the top 15 as he's only played four league games.

Here's what we think the top 15 should look like ahead of Sunday's match:

1) Kevin De Bruyne

2) Sadio Mane

3) Raheem Sterling

4) Sergio Aguero
