Liverpool fans have received some good news ahead of their first season under new kit manufacturer Nike.

The Reds will wear Nike next year after ending their seven-year association with New Balance.

Nike are a prestigious company and fans have been excited about the new deal.

However, there has been one lingering concern - the template kits.

For the past few years, Nike have rolled out various template kits and just changed the colours for their respective clubs.

Just look at this tweet that highlights the lack of creativity within the American sportswear giant’s kits.

One Liverpool fan was worried that Nike would provide them with a standard template kit for next season.

In response to images of Nigeria’s new design for 2020, @LFCOffside tweeted: “I don't know how Nigeria keep getting kits that are a billion times better than the rest of Nike's templated b******* but here's hoping whoever's doing it for them is in charge of Liverpool's 20-21 kit.”

Nike Senior Director Heidi Burgett responded to the supporter, and her message was great for every team that wears Nike.

“We're ditching the templates,” she wrote. “For the 2020 kits, Nike designers had 65 chassis options available to them across varying necklines, sleeves, cuffs, badge placement, etc.

"From hand-drawn prints to custom fonts, each team’s look will be its own."

Liverpool’s British record £80 million per year deal with Nike was announced in January, prompting a wave of concept kits to come out.

Speaking about the agreement, Liverpool Managing Director Billy Hogan said: “Our iconic kit is a key part of our history and identity.

"We welcome Nike into the LFC family as our new official kit supplier and expect them to be an incredible partner for the club, both at home and globally as we continue to expand our fanbase.”
