Chelsea legend John Terry has been crowned the Premier League's greatest-ever centre-back.
The former England international came out on top after beating ex-Manchester United pair Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand in the final of a fan vote.
Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk failed to reach the final after being knocked out at the semi-final stage of Football Tweet's poll.
Thousands of votes were cast and in the end, Terry came out on top.
Terry enjoyed a fantastic career in which he won five Premier League titles with Chelsea.
He was also part of the team that won the Champions League in 2011/12.
Individually, Terry won the PFA Player of the Year award in 2004/05 and was named in the PFA Team of the Year on four separate occasions.
In the final, Terry collected 43.8% of the votes.
Players were split into three groups, with the winner of each progressing through to the final.
In the first group, Terry came out on top against Jamie Carragher, Tony Adams and Jaap Stam. The Chelsea legend got 58.5% of the votes.
Ferdinand emerged from the second group, which also featured Vincent Kompany, Ledley King and Ricardo Carvalho.
And Vidic completed the final line-up after finishing ahead of Van Dijk, Marcel Desailly and Sol Campbell in the final group.
Liverpool’s Van Dijk is the reigning PFA and UEFA Player of the Year, and he finished second to Lionel Messi at the 2019 Ballon d’Or.
Yet he didn’t even reach the final after only managing 29% of votes.
So Terry comes out on top. Wayne Rooney called him the toughest defender he's ever faced and he won't be alone in that thought.
