It’s been reported that Serge Aurier’s brother, Christopher, was shot dead on Monday morning.

Reports from France - per The Daily Mail and The Sun - claim Christopher was fatally wounded at 5am outside a nightclub in Toulouse.

He was pronounced dead at hospital, according to Le Point and Europe 1.

Local residents reportedly called police after finding the 26-year-old on the ground.

It’s alleged that Aurier’s younger brother, who played football for Toulouse Rodeo in the fifth-tier of the French football pyramid, was shot in the stomach before the killer fled the scene.

The French authorities have launched an investigation. The perpetrator, at the time of writing, remains at large.

Christopher, like his brother, came through the ranks at RC Lens, but failed to break through to the highest level.

He also had trials at Brentford in 2011.

Just hours earlier, Serge had played the full 90 minutes in Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

All our thoughts are with Serge and his family at this extremely difficult time.
