In a chance meeting in Marbella, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury bumped into each other and it has now been revealed, thanks to Eddie Hearn, what was said between the pair.
No video of the conversation has surfaced yet, but fans present were able to detail it on social media, as was AJ’s promoter Hearn, who has revealed all about what was said.
The Gypsy King drove up next to Joshua in his Range Rover to exchange words.
Fury shouted “Alright” to acknowledge AJ, who was walking along the road. Once pulled up, the WBC champion was able to communicate with his fellow boxer.
“Make sure you beat Pulev,” Fury said.
AJ replied: “Make sure you beat Wilder.”
They both then reportedly said: “I will, and I’ll see you next year."
After a verbal agreement earlier this year, plans for a two-fight contest were confirmed by both corners.
AJ was quick to share the captured photo on social media, sharing the snap on Instagram. The Brit captioned: ‘Sweeeeeeeeeeeet Caroline!! Ohhhh ohhhh ohhhhh.'
Fury also shared the image with the caption: ‘2021 it’s going off.'
Suggesting that the first bout between the two champions will be next year, fans are starting to get excited about the highly-anticipated contest.
Promoter Eddie Hearn reacted to the interaction, saying: “It was amazing, people think it was a set up."
AJ & Fury are currently the kings of the heavyweight division, holding all titles. Joshua holds the WBA, WBO & IBF belts. Meanwhile, the Gypsy King holds the WBC crown.
As both champions suggested, they must both be victorious in their respective fights before they can go toe-to-toe in the ring.
AJ must successfully defend his IBF belt against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev, scheduled for later this year.
On the other hand, Fury must complete his trilogy battle with the Bronze Bomber Deontay Wilder.
