Liverpool emotionally sang 'You'll Never Walk Alone' after lifting Premier League trophy

Liverpool put on a truly special night of celebrations at Anfield on Wednesday.

The Reds ended their 30-year wait for a league title this season in remarkable fashion and it only seemed right that they teed up the trophy ceremony by winning a 5-3 thriller over Chelsea.

It couldn't have happened in a stranger season for Liverpool with the tragic COVID-19 pandemic ensuring that fans were banned from joining the celebrations inside Anfield.

Liverpool's incredible celebrations

But although nothing could replicate 50,000 Kopites singing their lungs out in the terraces, you've got to credit everyone at the club for essentially creating the next best thing.

There was an incredible atmosphere brewing on Merseyside by the time Jordan Henderson joined his teammates on the Kop podium to get his hands on the trophy that had long evaded them.

With dramatic lighting, music and even fireworks greeting the historic moment, every Liverpool fan in the world took to their feet as Henderson delivered his trademark 'shuffle' with the silverware.

Singing You'll Never Walk Alone

The events of the night didn't end there, though, and you can hardly blame the Liverpool squad for making the most out of a moment that, for multiple reasons, has taken so long to get to.

Of course, had Liverpool fans indeed been in attendance, the players would have been treated to a stirring rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as they traditionally are before each game.

However, in a decision that seemed to movingly incorporate the fans into the celebrations, the entire Liverpool squad and staff joined in arms to belt out a song that has become so special to the club.

Beautiful footage

As you can imagine, it was spine-tingling to see Jurgen Klopp, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and every member of the emotionally giving their all to the anthem.

But just in case you haven't shed enough tears of happiness already this evening, then fear not, because we have the goosebump-inducing footage for you to enjoy down below:

We're not crying, you're crying.

It's a beautiful song that not only rounds off Liverpool's historic achievement in suitably emotional fashion, but one that sums up everything about the club's legacy and ethos.

The special nature and fabric of Liverpool Football Club has, after all, been evidenced in the number of videos documenting their struggles and rise over the past 30 years.

Klopp and co. can now hold their heads high amongst club legends such as Sir Kenny Dalglish, Bill Shankley, Bob Paisley, Emlyn Hughes and so many icons who pulled on the red jersey.

That, and the fact Liverpool lifted the trophy with 96 points to their name. I'm not one to believe in fate, but that's special if you ask me.
