Leeds United reporter details Eberechi Eze transfer stance

Every man and his dog will be linked with Leeds United this summer.

That said, I'm sure that supporters will not be complaining.

The Whites are enjoying the summer period after securing promotion to the Premier League in truly convincing fashion.

Marcelo Bielsa's side ran riot in the Championship and ended up being promoted comfortably after winning the league title by 10 points.

That dominance was topped off by the adrenaline-filled playing style that became a trademark of the west Yorkshire side.

But while promotion was never truly in doubt, next season looks set to be a completely different task.

Surviving in the Premier League is a bigger ask than many think - after all, plenty has changed after 16 years outside of the top flight.

If Leeds are to survive relegation next term then they'll certainly need to improve their playing squad.

One man who has been linked is Eberechi Eze.

The Queens Park Rangers star scored 14 goals and racked up eight assists in a memorable Championship campaign.

Valued at £20million, the attacking midfielder is also attracting the attention of West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

But while interest hots up over the Championship star, Leeds United reporter Beren Cross has claimed that the Whites are not 'actively chasing' the 22-year-old.

Writing in a Q&A with Leeds Live, Cross said: “I like him.

"Leeds like him, but we’re nowhere near offering bids or anything like that.

"When I last asked about him, I was told he was not being actively chased.

"(I) think half of London want him too.”

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

There's no doubting that Eberechi Eze is a very talented player.

After being released by Millwall as a teenager it seems that the attacking midfielder has plenty to prove after really establishing himself at Queens Park Rangers.

This season has been outstanding for Eze, and that is why so many top flight clubs are said to be circling.

The 22-year-old is certainly ready for the Premier League, but it's important that he goes to the right club.

Leeds United put a lot of emphasis on working hard off the ball - something that isn't necessarily Eze's biggest strength.

While he would bring a lot to the side in an offensive sense, it's not a surprise that Leeds are perhaps prioritising other targets.

It's inevitable that he will be on the move this summer, but it appears increasingly unlikely that it'll be Elland Road where he lands.
