An awful lot was expected of Eden Hazard when he completed his long-awaited move from Chelsea to Real Madrid last summer.
Los Blancos paid a fee of €100m to land the Belgian, who is also earning around £400,000-a-week.
Therefore, his one goal in an injury-plagued season that saw him miss 23 games simply isn't good enough.
Even Hazard himself has admitted that the 2019/20 campaign was the worst of his career.
"This year, we collectively won this league title, but I have surely had the worst season of my career individually," he said after Real secured La Liga glory.
So what's going so wrong for Hazard at Madrid?
Well according to former Chelsea star turned talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino, he's paying the price for failing to take his transfer seriously.
"We all know how brilliant Hazard can be, we all know the difference he can make to a football team," Cascarino told the radio station.
"But he didn't take the move to Madrid seriously, and he's paid for it this season.
"He turned up overweight, he's been playing catch-up, he's getting niggly injuries."
Hazard featured for Madrid in their Champions League defeat to Manchester City on Friday and Cascarino claims the Belgian looks like a different player in white.
"Watching him last night was like watching a completely different player," he continued.
"Kyle Walker must've been thinking, 'Is this the same player I faced at Chelsea?'
"He's a brilliant player, but he's paid the price for turning up at Madrid for a big fee and not taking it seriously.
"He does switch off every now and again. As good and as great as he can be, he does down tools every so often."
GIVEMESPORT's Ollie Browning says:
It's pretty brutal to suggest that Hazard doesn't take his job seriously. Let's be honest, he was never in great shape during pre-season at Chelsea either.
But the talent he has ensured he was always the game-winner when it came to crunch time in England.
Hazard needs to start doing the same at Real Madrid next season too.
