Dayot Upamecano's highlights during RB Leipzig vs Atletico Madrid are sensational

RB Leipzig are through to the Champions League semi-final after they beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 on Thursday night.

After a drab first half, Dani Olmo’s brilliant header gave the German side the lead.

But Joao Felix’s introduction sparked Atletico Madrid into life.

The 20-year-old, who was signed last summer for £113 million, made an immediate impact and within 13 minutes won his side a penalty with a brilliant surging run.

Felix picked himself up and equalised for Diego Simeone’s side.

If you had £10 to bet on which side would go on to win from that moment on, there’s only one team you’d be putting it on. They were Spanish.

However Leipzig weathered the storm and, with just a few minutes remaining, they scored a breakaway goal.

Marcel Sabitzer, who was absolutely brilliant during the 90 minutes, played a superb ball in behind for Angelino to run on to. The former Manchester City left-back pulled the ball back for 21-year-old American Tyler Adams. The substitute’s effort deflected off Stefan Savic and past Jan Oblak and into the back of the net.

Leipzig will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final on Tuesday.

While Adams or 33-year-old manager Julian Nagelsmann may make the headlines, they should belong to one win - Dayot Upamecano.

The 21-year-old centre-back was phenomenal throughout, showing why he’s regarded as one of the biggest prospects in European football.

He absolutely bullied Diego Costa and had him in his pocket all match, picking up the Man of the Match award as a result.

His stats from the match are outrageously good - and so too are his match highlights.

What a defender.

According to reports, the Frenchman has a release clause of just €42m which becomes active next summer. Arsenal have been linked with him but they're not going to be the side interested at this rate.

If he's available for €42m next summer, there’s going to be an almighty battle for his signature.
