Celtic have it all to do this season.
After winning a ninth successive league title last term it seemed that the Bhoys were on track to cruise to a historic 10-in-a-row this time around.
Based on the early evidence it seems that this is not the case.
The season got off to the worst possible start with Boli Bolingoli's breach of lockdown restrictions attracting unwanted attention from all corners of the football world and beyond.
With two league fixtures postponed as a result the hope was that they could focus on progressing in the Champions League, however a shock defeat saw those hopes dashed as well.
Celtic have been in good form since returning to league action but find themselves six points behind leaders and rival Rangers, who will be determined to stop the Bhoys from reaching the record books.
For Neil Lennon's side to close the gap it's inevitable that they'll continue to look to the transfer market.
Deals to sign Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas, David Turnbull and Shane Duffy have already been completed this summer, but there's more work to be done for sure.
Celtic are keen to add wide talent to their squad, and according to Alan Nixon of The Sun, they may have found their man in the form of Alfie Doughty.
The Charlton Athletic starlet is said to be a top target for the Bhoys who are particularly keen to bring him to Glasgow.
The 20-year-old is a wing-back by trade, and so could be seen as a replacement for Bolingoli who faces an uncertain future at Parkhead.
Nixon claims that Celtic's recruitment team have been watching him closely, with Nick Hammond one of those in attendance for the Addicks' Carabao Cup victory over Swindon Town on Saturday.
Nixon tweeted: "CELTIC. Taking major interest in Doughty at CHARLTON.
"Already been contact. Two top men watched yesterday, including Hammond."
GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...
This could be a very interesting one to keep an eye on.
Celtic are clearly looking for a left-sided player and Alfie Doughty certainly fits the bill.
Described by Lee Bowyer as 'outstanding', the 20-year-old is really coming into his own for Charlton Athletic and looks like a player with an incredibly bright future ahead of him.
With the Addicks now playing in League One a move to Parkhead would no doubt be appealing to the wing-back who would surely love the chance to play under Neil Lennon.
A deal for Doughty would no doubt be relatively cheap, and so if Celtic decide that a move is worthwhile then I wouldn't be surprised to see this one move fairly quickly.
