EA could be about to announce Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered

EA Sports appear to be set to make a major announcement imminently concerning the release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

The original version of the game was a major hit when it first became available in 2010, with its impressive cars and police chases proving popular with players.

This has led to rumours circulating for a number of months that a remastered edition could be brought out.

EA have done little to dampen the speculation, and they teased fans on Friday by posting a couple of cryptic tweets on their social media, indicating that an updated version of the game is on the way.

The video game company have also added further intrigue to the situation by placing a countdown clock on their official website. It appears set to reach zero on Monday, October 5, 2020, and was accompanied by the following message.

"5:10. How did he go so fast? Five ten. 'Call Big Joe's Pizzeria on 0800-510-510-510.' There's got to be a way to fix this."

Amazon UK recently put up a listing of the game, before swiftly removing it. The leak provided valuable information for interested onlookers, claiming that the remastered game is set to be released next month on November 13, and will cost fans £35 to buy.

With plenty ready to purchase the video game when it is released, there is still uncertainty as to what formats it will be available on. According to "a source familiar with the publisher's release slate", however, it will be able to be played on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

We need some good news in 2020. How do you feel about a remastered version potentially hitting the stores soon? Will you be heading out to buy one, or will it simply not be able to hit the heights of the original Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit?
