Arguably Ubisoft’s most popular franchise looks set to be heading to China.
Leaked photos from Ubisoft Montreal concept artist John Bigorgne have given us a hint about the next location for the series and it looks stunning.
In two photos dubbed “Fortress” and “Forest”, there appears to be some historic Chinese architecture such as a temple and some straw houses forming a small village or town.
However, Ubisoft remain tightly lipped about their next game after Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (which is to be set in the Viking era).
Considering how well developed these pictures are it seems to be a no-brainer.
Let’s have a look at the previous locations of the series:
Assassin’s Creed I – Third Crusade of the Holy Land in 1191
This includes historical versions of Jerusalem, Damascus, Acre and Masyaf.
Assassin’s Creed II & III– Italian Renaissance late 15th, early 16th Century
Locations include Florence, Rome, Venice, Tuscany and Forli.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations – 16th Century Ottoman Empire
The main location is Constantinople (known as Istanbul, Turkey today).
Assassin’s Creed III – American Revolution
Mainly set in Boston and New York but also included key battles of the Revolution.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – 18th Century Pirate
Locations included Havana, Nassau and Kingston. Who doesn’t want to be an Assassin Pirate (or is it Pirate Assassin?) for a day?
Assassin’s Creed Rogue – Seven Years War
Main setting in Northeastern North America and the North Atlantic.
Assassin’s Creed Unity – French Revolution
Set in the place where we associate love and peace but during this time was a blood bath. Paris.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – Industrial Revolution/ Victorian Britain
Well this is based in London and it looks awesome!
Assassin’s Creed Origins – Ptolemaic Period (49-44 BC)
Set in ancient Egypt where you can find one of the seven wonders of the world… and Katy Perry singing about finding a suitor.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – Peloponnesian War (431-422 BC)
Set in ancient Greece where the war is between Athens and Sparta.
So where do you think Assassin’s Creed will go to next?
Would it be in the trenches of WWI or in the middle of Petrograd during the Russian Revolution?
