WWE Hell in a Cell results: Shock title changes, new MITB holder & Match of the Year contender

Orton wins the WWE Championship

Hell in a Cell is one of WWE's most popular 'gimmick' pay-per-view events.

Nothing is more exciting than seeing two superstars enter the demonic structure, beat the hell out of each other and walk out a changed person.

This year's annual event was no different. Scores were settled inside the cell on Sunday night.

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso battled for bloodline supremacy, former best friends Bayley and Sasha Banks went to war, while Drew McIntyre put his WWE title on the line against Randy Orton.

There were plenty more surprises too, with no less than seven matches on the card - including one that was added very late on.

Check out the full results from Hell in a Cell below.

What a show! Reigns and Uso opened the PPV with a Match of the Year contender that was WWE storytelling at its finest.

After both men went to hell and back in a brutal bout, Jey finally uttered the words 'I Quit' after Roman locked in his Guillotine submission on the injured Jimmy Uso, who came to his brother's aid.

Following the match, Reigns was officially acknowledged as 'The Tribal Cheif' by Afa and Sika (The Wild Samoans). We can't wait to see where this storyline goes next!

There was further drama as The Miz beat Otis to capture the Money in the Bank briefcase after a massive heel turn from Tucker.

It wasn't just Reigns and Uso that ripped it up either.

Sasha Banks defeated Bayley to win the SmackDown Women's Championship in a SECOND Match of the Year contender on the same night.

Banks and Bayley tore it up

But the real drama came in the main event of Hell in a Cell when Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton squared off.

After a violent battle inside the cell, both men scaled the structure and carried on brawling on the roof, before Orton was sent crashing through the announce table.

Somehow, despite suffering a terrible fall, the WWE champ recovered to catch Orton with a Claymore Kick and looked set to retain his belt.

But it wasn't enough as Randy reversed a second Claymore to hit the RKO and win the WWE Championship.

What a night!
