Former Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger has said that Mick Schumacher is doing very well in the sport but there is a long way for him to go before he can be ready to drive for one of the elite teams on the grid.
Mick has done a decent job so far in his rookie Formula 1 season with him having to contend with spending most of his time at the rear of the field in a Haas car that is quite considerably the slowest this year.
Indeed, all he's really been able to do to show his talents is beat his teammate Nikita Mazepin and, thus far, he has done that pretty well across both qualifying and the races.
Certainly, there's been enough shown from Mick that he has the potential to progress well in the sport and the hope will be he is in a far more competitive car next year to start mixing it with other drivers - as he showed he could do at the jumbled Hungarian Grand Prix at the start of August.
Of course, as a member of the Ferrari driver programme there will always be talk of him eventually driving for the Scuderia but, for Berger, it's perhaps a little too soon to be predicting when Schumacher will get a chance to drive for them or one of the other big teams on the grid:
''Mick is doing very well now, but there is still a long way to go before you can say he is ready for one of the top teams.''
Mick has had a progressive season this year, and hopefully that can keep building in the campaigns to come.News Now - Sport News
