As the release of FIFA 22 draws ever closer, there's one thing the majority of people are interested in finding out; this year's player ratings.

Every year, EA Sports updates the ratings for every single player in the game, and fans are always interested to see whether their favourite players have gone up or down.

But quite often, fans aren't the only ones interested in the FIFA ratings.

Every year around this time, we see a massive influx of players reacting to their own cards.

The latest release of ratings seems to have caused a stir on social media, and one player in particular seems very unhappy with his FIFA 22 rating.

A video clip of Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon and Japhet Tanganga discovering their new ratings has sparked quite the reaction.

The Tottenham players were handed a copy of their new cards for a video on Spurs TV, and it's safe to say Japhet Tanganga was far from impressed.

Whilst teammates Doherty and Reguilon were given a respectable 78 and 81 overall rating, Tanganga's card was revealed to be a 73.

Unfortunately for Tanganga, a 73 rating isn't even high enough for him to get a gold card, so it's unsurprising that he is not impressed. Especially when you consider that his left-sided counterpart (who happens to be sitting right next to him) is now eight whole points better than him overall.

While Reguilon looks on awkwardly, Tanganga angrily exclaims: "What is this? 73?! Right-back, I'm not using myself, who would use this?!"

Doherty, meanwhile, appears to be covering his face to hide his laughter at his teammate's misfortune.

After the clip was posted to Twitter, it appeared that many fans were also in agreement that Tanganga's rating should have been higher. There seemed to be a recurring theme in the comments that he deserved a higher rating than teammate Doherty.

Tanganga is far from being the first player to be upset by his FIFA rating, and probably won't be the last.

It will certainly be interesting to see what other surprises FIFA 22 has in store for us.
