The release of FIFA 22 is so nearly upon us, but despite the fact the game is yet to be released, many player ratings have already been revealed.

Once again, many fans have been left unimpressed and confused by some of the ratings released by EA Sports.

Twitter user @FUT22News has compiled a list of players whose ratings they have claimed "don't make sense."

Judging by the amount of traction the post has gained, it seems the majority of fans have agreed with the list.

Take a look at the 10 ratings they've questioned below.

Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood has been given an overall rating of 78, which is low in comparison with the majority of his teammates. This particular rating seems to have been a major talking point between FIFA fans, as many believe he deserves to be higher.

After a bright start to the season, which has seen the youngster net three times in the opening four games, it's easy to see why.

Also included in the list are the downgrades of Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo, which may come as a surprise to many.

While it's safe to say that Liverpool's season was somewhat disappointing compared to their previous title-winning campaign, Salah was one of the only players to perform at a consistently high level. The Egyptian bagged 22 goals in the Premier League alone and assisted five times throughout the course of the season, so it's hard to understand why EA Sports decided this was worthy of a downgrade.

Ronaldo was another victim of an EA ratings drop, with FIFA 22 seeing him downgraded from a 92 overall to a 91. But once again, even a quick glance at his statistics from last season is enough to understand why fans are confused after the Portuguese superstar scored 29 goals in 33 games.

Ronaldo's new teammate Bruno Fernandes has also been a talking point after he was only given a +1 rating compared with last year's card.

Fernandes scored an impressive 18 times from midfield last season in the Premier League alone, also racking up 12 assists. When you include his four goals in the Champions League and five goals in the Europa League, it's hard to understand how his spectacular season was only worthy of a +1 overall.

Bruno's minor rating adjustment becomes even more confusing when you realise that Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara was given an equal upgrade.

Whilst Thiago isn't known for being a goalscoring midfielder, it's still hard to understand how his one-goal-season is worthy of an upgrade equal to Bruno Fernandes. Thiago only featured for Liverpool a total of 28 times in all competitions as well. In comparison, Bruno was fielded over 50 times for Manchester United.

Whether you agree or disagree with the ratings handed out by FIFA, it's easy to see why many fans are annoyed and confused by some of them when you look at the statistics.
