Manchester United slumped to a disappointing draw to Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon as their run of poor form continued apace.
In a tight affair at Old Trafford it would be Villa who would steal a march on the win, thanks to a late second half strike by Kourtney Hause.
United simply couldn't exert themselves on the clash and paid the ultimate price as Villa nipped in at the end and were seconds away from a brilliant smash and grab at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, somewhat ironically, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's comments regarding penalties in the build up, United were awarded a last gasp spot ice, giving them a golden opportunity to salvage a draw.
Unfortunately, in keeping with the week they have had, the penalty was missed by the normally reliable Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese star skied the penalty over the bar consigning United to their first loss of the season.
It brings to an end what has been a forgettable week for United, after they crashed out of the League Cup at the hands of West Ham.
If they are truly going to challenge for the title come the end of the season, days like these need to be done away with, especially in front of their own fans.
