Anthony Joshua had message for Oleksandr Usyk as backstage footage emerges

Usyk gave Joshua his belts back to him after the fight

Oleksandr Usyk is the new heavyweight champion of the world.

The Ukrainian faced Anthony Joshua in north London on Saturday evening.

And he produced a stunning performance as he outclassed the English fighter.

While Usyk was unable to send Joshua to the canvas, he had him rocked multiple times during the 12 rounds as he showed his dominance.

It was a masterful performance and he thoroughly deserved to win the bout on points.

Joshua and Usyk have been very respectful to each other in the lead up to the fight.

And the mutual respect continued backstage after the bout.

After posing with the belts for the cameras, Usyk took the time to give them back to Joshua. Usyk, of course, will be given his own belts.

After a brief exchange, the two fighters teased there will be a rematch as they said: "See you soon."

Fair play to both fighters, especially Joshua.

He had just lost his belts but he was very gracious in defeat.

Joshua has a rematch clause and, according to his promotor Eddie Hearn, he will activate it.

He told Sky Sports: "It's going to be really difficult because Usyk's confidence will be sky high, but when you get to the level of Anthony Joshua, as we saw after the Ruiz defeat, there's no 10-round comeback fights and warm-ups.

"It's straight back into the fire and he will want to go straight back into that rematch. He will be an underdog in the rematch this time after that tonight, but that's what he does."

Joshua has also iterated his desire to fight Usyk again.

Asked if he wanted a rematch, Joshua said, per Sky Sports: "100 per cent. 110 per cent.

"I'm ready to get back to training. Because of the 12 rounds, my lungs and everything, it was a good 12-rounder, so I'll be in a good place when I get back into training to pick up where we left off."
