With Deontay Wilder’s highly anticipated fight with Tyson Fury on the horizon it truly has ignited a flame in the boxing community.

Past interviews are being brought to the forefront of peoples minds; with one of these being Mike Tyson's former trainer claiming that his past fighter would beat Wilder in under a minute.

The trilogy of Wilder vs Fury is set to take place in Nevada on October 9th 2021 and it sure isn’t going to be a fight boxing fans will want to be missing.

This being because of its obvious entertainment factor but also its amazing stories and anticipation. In 2018 the first fight went all the way with both men going all out against each other leaving every ounce of commitment and effort in the ring that they had gained from their camps.

The fight itself has been regarded several times as a war and that’s what it has proven to be but the first fight encapsulates the whole concept of not giving up and not standing down against the odds.

It came in the 12th round that many thought the Gypsy King’s night would be over against the undefeated Wilder as he laid flat on the canvas but then as by magic he rose and continued until the last bell.

The fight then went to a split decision which displayed the importance of Fury’s persistence.

The second fight would then go onto see Wilder’s record to be tarnished with an outstanding performance from the Gypsy King through putting the American fighter on the canvas twice and finishing the job off in the 7th round of the bout.

Where Wilder’s clean record had been ruined in his 2nd fight against Tyson it was a prime time for people to throw in statements and offers at the American heavyweight.

Thus resultantly fuelling him to further re-write his negatives into positives for people to see him in a better light; this is where Jeff Fenech had got involved in amongst it all.

Fenech was the coach to one of the world most recognised boxers in modern day history Mike Tyson; Fenech made his appearance as Tyson's coach near to the end of his career.

Tyson holds a quite formidable set of results winning 44 of his 56 fights with via knock out. He was a two time world heavyweight champion and the youngest heavyweight champion the world has ever seen with him lifting the title at the age of 20.

It sounds crazy that his previous coach believes even with Tyson being out of boxing for in excess of 15 years now he could still stun Wilder in under a minute with only a short training camp.

“Boxing’s not the same now. I’d guarantee that if Mike Tyson trained for six weeks, he’d knock Wilder out in a minute," Fenech said, back in 2020.

“He would hit them. If these guys are getting knocked out by Tyson Fury - who’s a great fighter, but not a huge puncher - Tyson would kill these guys.

“They’re not on the same level today.”

Iron Mike showed what he is capable of in November 2020 when he returned to the ring for an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr.

Tyson put on quite a show and has shared footage of just how dangerous he looks in training since that day.

While claiming he could KO Wilder is probably far fetched, you can see where Fenech was coming from.
