Paul Brown reckons that Jesse Lingard has moved on from the possibility of re-signing for West Ham.

What's the latest news with Lingard?

Considering he's yet to start in the Premier League and is coming off a summer of uncertainty, it's largely been a positive season so far for Lingard, who's valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt.

Following his impressive loan spell at West Ham last January, a return to the London Stadium looked firmly on the cards. However, despite the Hammers' best efforts, Lingard wanted to stay at his boyhood club and fight for his place, even though the additions of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho were likely to hinder of chances of playing regularly.

But to Lingard's credit, whilst his only start came in the Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham, he's certainly made an impact from the bench. He's already chipped in with two goals and a crucial assist against Villarreal earlier this week despite being hardly used.

Sancho's poor start to his United career could allow Lingard to move up the pecking order, but regardless, Brown reckons that the boyhood Red Devils supporter is now firmly focused on his Old Trafford duties.

What did Brown say?

Ole still under pressure at Man United?! Check out the latest news on The Football Terrace...

He told GIVEMESPORT: "It's not just West Ham, I think Jesse Lingard has moved on. He said himself after that game when he was asked the question about West Ham, it's time to move on and he considers himself a Manchester United player. He's still getting minutes and is still contributing."

Could West Ham come back in for Lingard in January?

At present, Lingard appears to be content with playing a starring role from the bench. If he keeps rescuing United, then surely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reward him with a starting place, but he looks happy with his current role, although he'll want more minutes.

When did David De Gea sign for Manchester United?

If once January comes around Lingard is still playing a bit-part role and West Ham need another attacker, especially being in the Europa League, you can't rule it out happening once again, but it feels like his chance to return has been and gone.
