Newcastle United have entered a new era following the completion of the £305 million Saudi Arabian-backed takeover on Thursday.
The Magpies, whose fans are delighted to see the back of former owner Mike Ashley, are now one of the richest football clubs on the planet.
Public Investment Fund (PIF), who are providing 80 per cent of funds for the deal, have assets worth £250 billion.
It now seems a matter of time before Newcastle are equipped with a squad and coaching staff capable of challenging for silverware.
The north-east outfit last won a major domestic trophy back in 1955, when they lifted the FA Cup following a 3-1 victory over Manchester City at Wembley.
But how long will it be before they’re winning the FA Cup, Premier League and perhaps even the Champions League?
Following Thursday’s takeover, Newcastle’s odds of winning the Premier League within the next five years have been slashed to 8/1.
Did Griezmann predict Newcastle's takeover?
Two players that Newcastle fans are probably already dreaming about signing are French forwards Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe.
Griezmann already has some knowledge of Newcastle, as it happens, thanks to Football Manager (FM).
Back in the summer, a video uploaded to social media by the France national team’s Twitter account showed Griezmann boasting about his managerial achievements with Newcastle on FM.
It’s the year 2027 in Griezmann’s FM save and he’s managed to win the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Community Shield and the Super Cup.
“Five titles,” Griezmann says on the video. “What a coach! I am a legend of coaches in English football.”
Griezmann then tells Mbappe: “I signed you for Newcastle, I paid €134 million for you.”
“Where?” Mbappe responds. “Newcastle? It’s not hot over there, huh?”
