You’d think Jurgen Klopp would be a very happy man, then.
Well, not quite.
We’re sure he was delighted with Liverpool’s 3-2 victory at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night but he had a funny way of showing it in his post-match interview.
After the final whistle, Klopp was miffed at Atleti boss Diego Simeone immediately running down the tunnel without shaking his hand. The Liverpool manager responded with a sarcastic thumbs up.
Simeone doesn't shake Klopp's hand after Atletico Madrid 2-3 Liverpool
After the game, one reporter suggested that Klopp was ‘angry’ at Simeone’s snub. He’ll be wishing he didn’t.
That’s because it set Klopp off on a rant about not being angry…
“C’mon, I’m not such an idiot,” Klopp replied.
“You come in with a little bit of a question here. I was not angry at all. Have a look. If you want to make a story of it, that I can imagine.
“I want to shake his hand, he doesn’t want to. In that moment, I can understand it. He goes running inside. He’s emotional, I’m emotional and you are not a nice person because you want to make a story of that. You said I was angry. When was I angry? Now I’m angry because of your question.”
Klopp then walks off before giving a sarcastic ‘HA!’

"When we are flying we win the games anyway, but on a night like this - getting the three points is really massive."
