UFC star Jorge Masvidal has savagely thrown down the gauntlet in front of YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

A boxing bout between the two has been rumoured for a while now with Paul calling out Masvidal – and now the UFC brawler has responded.

The pair do have history as Paul was coached by Masvidal ahead of his triumphant first bout against Ben Askren earlier this year – but their relationship seems to have broken down since then.

And Masvidal didn’t hold back with some choice words for Paul, confirming he’s ready to make his debut in a boxing ring to take on ‘The Problem Child’, but only once he’s finished with MMA.

"He knows at the end of the day, on a face-to-face, he can't say any of that,” Masvidal told Ariel Helwani.

"Unless he has his 50 bodyguards and I'm by myself.

"Because at the end of the day I can always pick this little kid up and slam him through the concrete so hard that he will be invalid for the rest of his life."

‘Gamebred’ also ruthlessly tore into his nemesis’ ability in the ring.

"Right now, where I'm at in my career, I'm gonna fight the world's best fighters in the world,” he added.

"We can both agree that they're in the f**king UFC. In 170 pounds there's a lot of good guys and I could f**king beat them. And I'm gonna get the most money out of it, my brother.

"Now when I'm done beating up world-class fighters, if this will still be around, I'll go and collect a quick pay cheque for hitting him so f**king hard in front of the whole world.

"Those other options will always be there. But right now while I'm in my prime, I gotta do things that people in their prime do and that's fight the world's best. He's not in that conversation or ever will be."

Masvidal is currently gearing up to face Leon Edwards at UFC 269 in December and will be hoping to end his two-fight losing streak, twice coming up short against Kamaru Usman.
